Gag Reel and Hiatus News

So we have some good news and some bad news.

The good news is that we’ll be releasing Iron Horses Can’t Be Broken’s gag reel as an exclusive for our Patreon supporters. This is a half-hour of chatter, flubbed lines, tangents, and outtakes giving insight into the actors, our production process, and the shenanigans we get up to on set.

Season Break

Now, the bad news.

As you know, Burning Brigid Media doesn’t generate an income sufficient to pay for itself yet. All production costs are coming out Kat’s and my pockets, and our pockets aren’t very deep. I’m an author and Kat does freelance work on the side, so she ends up having to take work when it’s available and is pretty much continuously searching for the next gig. This searching-working-searching cycle is time-consuming and unpredictable; and this year has been slow, so she’s had to allot increasing amounts of time for it. This cuts into the time we have to work on Synesthesia Theatre’s post-processing.

While Cold Reboot’s recording is done, there’s still a bit of editing and mastering to go, and I still need to mix most of the sound effects. We’d initially hoped to start releasing after the IHCBB cast interviews, but it looks now as if we’ll be delayed, about a month if things go well.

Yeah, we don’t like it either.

Want to help? Donate to Synesthesia Theatre’s Patreon. Doesn’t take much. If every one of our hundreds of listeners donated a minimal $1 per episode (that’s $2 per month), we’d not only be able to cover all of our production costs, but we could invest in better equipment and sound libraries, improving the overall quality of our shows. We could also devote more time to Synesthesia Theatre, reducing the need for hiatuses. In return you get a bunch of cool exclusives, like early episode access, Google Hangouts with us, and the b-reel blooper audio.

Plus, we’ll never have to take on ads. Which would be nice. (And we really will be your best friend!)
