Ask a Slave is a snarky, dryly funny web series created by and starring Azie Mira Dungey. Set up as interviews with Lizzie Mae, housemaid to George and Martha Washington, the series is based on actual questions Ms. Dungey fielded as a living history character at the Mount Vernon historical site.
And the questions are terrible. Yikes.
Virtually unflappable, Lizze Mae answers all questions with a beaming smile and no small amount of biting sarcasm. Viewers will groan and laugh in equal measure.
There are two seasons available, so pull up a chair and enjoy.
